The Icelandic Chamber of Commerce in Japan

The Chamber was founded in 2002 at the then newly established Icelandic Embassy in Tokyo.  From the beginning the organization has been focused on supporting and facilitating trade between Icelandic and Japanese companies.

Due to globalization and the complexity of international business, the business itself may or may not be focused on products or services originating in the respective countries.

The Chamber is open to all companies, organizations and individuals interested in the above.  As per the current focus of the chamber itself, our main areas of interest are clean energy, seafood and fisheries and last but not least tourism.  These areas correlate to Iceland’s government’s focus in the post financial crisis environment.

By no means is the chamber limited to those fields, and is in fact very much interested and has corporate members from fields such as textiles, heavy machinery and international shipping.  In fact some of Japan’s oldest and most prestigious corporations are members of our chamber.

The chambers activities are focused in, and around the Tokyo area, and the board meets regularly to discuss activities, seminars and other scheduled events, that are often coordinated with the Embassy of Iceland in Tokyo.  In fact the Ambassador of Iceland has a permanent seat on the board of the ISCCJ.

The chamber is open to entities world wide.
