During the visit of the Icelandic Foreign Minister to Japan, the two bilateral chambers of commerce of Japan and Iceland together with Icelandic Chamber of Commerce established a special travel fund for recipients of the newly concluded Working Holiday visa agreement between Iceland and Japan.
The Working Holiday scheme will take effect on 1 September 2018. The scheme provides opportunities for young people between the age of 18 and 26 to experience the culture and general way of life in each other countries. Japan is the first country with which Icelandic authorities reach such an agreement.
